About Wabash, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Wabash is a city in Indiana with a population of about 11,000. It is the county seat of Wabash County and claims to have been the first electrically lit city in the world. This is said to have happened March 31, 1880. But, the truth is that only the courthouse grounds were electrically lit and folklore and legend took over from there. But, the town is certainly steeped in history and charm. The seasonal weather is lovely and brings new climate conditions with each season. It is enjoyable for those who love to watch the changes in seasons.
The downtown section of Wabash was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and the town is home to many historic structures:
- Eagles Theater
- Paradise Spring Treaty Grounds
- Disciples of Christ Christian Church
- James M. Amoss Building
- Solomon Wilson Building
- E.M. Conner Building
- Back Saddlery and Harness Shop
- Wabash City Hall
- McNamee-Ford House
- And many, many more.
A historic walk around Wabash is an ideal way to spend a pretty spring or summer day in this quaint Midwestern enclave.
