About Warsaw, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Warsaw was named after the capital city of Poland, the native soil of its county's namesake - Thaddeus Kosciusko. In 1834, settlers arrived, a blacksmith shop and a number of homes were constructed. A year later, it was selected as the county seat. In 1854, the Pittsburgh - Fort Wayne - Chicago Railway was built and many communities in the area saw a boom in population and commerce. Since then, the town has steadily grown attracting families from all over the state and even the country looking for a slow pace of life in a Midwestern town. The town is beautiful at any time of year and has something to offer for every season and weather condition. Above all, the fellowship in the town is quite special and the love for the local history is evident.
The Kosciusko County Jail was constructed in 1870. It is a Gothic Revival fortress-like prison. The Opera House, built in 1874 (after a fire destroyed a previous structure), is a three-story brick building with seating for 1,500. The area’s downtown area is lined with many such beautiful, elegant and old buildings preserved and cherished by the local population. If you are looking for something fun to do with the kids when the weather is nice, a stroll around the area is never a bad idea. It is a great way to pass a warm summer day when the kids are out of school.
The nearby town of South Whitley throws an annual Fall Fest as the foliage changes and the climate cools. Many from the community (and surrounding towns) come out to celebrate the harvest, a new school year and the splendor of the fall season. Check out the town’s stunning historic buildings and meet some charming people while you are in town. It is a town steeped in tradition and is as beautiful inside and is it is out.
